How can I access library databases?

In order to access databases from off-campus you need your Franklin Pierce email address and password. 

Your username is the information before the @ symbol in your email address.  For example, if your email is smithj11@live.franklinpierce.edu then your username is smithj11.

You can contact a Reference Librarian to set up an online appointment to familiarize yourself with the library's web page and services.  We use Join Me screen-sharing technology.  You will need to be able to be on the computer and phone at the same time.

Welcome to the Library Information for Distance Learners page!

The DiPietro Library is located on the undergraduate campus in Rindge, NH. (Directions)  The library faculty and staff serve all Franklin Pierce students through a variety of services.  It is not necessary to come to Rindge to use our services.

This guide will explain library services available to our College of Graduate and Professional Studies (CGPS) students, please take a look around and let us know if you have any questions.

How can I find articles?

There are various ways to find articles:

  • most of our articles are available through our databases, check out the LibGuide page for your topic to find the best databases;
  • if you have a citation, and want to find which database it is in, check out our Electronic Journals page;
  • we are always happy to scan and send an article we have here in the library, or you can request it via Interlibrary Loan.

How do I find a book?

You can search for print and eBooks via the catalog.

 

Search our collection for materials and send an email to Library1@franklinpierce.edu detailing the items you wish to have sent, and include complete contact information: your first & last name, email, phone number and mailing address for FedEx delivery (we cannot ship to a PO Box); Students are responsible for return costs via either Fedex or UPS.  Books may be borrowed for 4 weeks, videos may be borrowed for 2 weeks.

The DiPietro Library has eBooks available via several databases, most of can be downloaded to an eReader or read on-screen. Over 100,000 eBooks on a variety of subjects are available via EBSCO eBooks. Medical eBooks can be found in R2 and MD Consult.

How can I renew materials?

You can renew materials online by clicking on the My Bookbag link from the library's main page or by calling the Circulation Desk at 899-4140.
