Welcome!

Fall 2011 Workshop Schedule:

Beginning your Research

Wednesday  September 28, 2-3 pm
Thursday October 6, 9-10 am

In this workshop, we will cover two great new library resources for helping you start a research paper and keeping track of your information as you go along. Credo Reference is an online database that can help you narrow down a topic for a paper, and EasyBib School edition is a useful tool for creating your Works Cited page and organizing your notes. Both resources will be demonstrated and you will have a chance to ask questions. Presented by Becca Cahill.

Finding Reliable Websites

Wednesday 11/9, 9-10am
Monday November 14, 4-5 pm

In this workshop we will discuss how to find reliable websites outside on the library’s collection. Tips for using more precise searching on the web will be presented, and we will look at how search engine optimization (SEO) can change the results you see when you do a search- not always for the better. An overview of the criteria for evaluating a website’s reliability will also be covered. This is a workshop that should be helpful whether you are doing research for a paper or trying to find information for your personal use. Presented by Becca Cahill
