Beginning in 1970, it has been a tradition for students and faculty of Franklin Pierce University to hike Mt. Monadnock together to begin each school year. Taking place in fall the Raven Recreation team decides a date and time for the climb posting the information around campus on posters or on the campus’s social media site. The hike usually takes place in the morning and shuttles escort students to and from the mountain. At the end of the hike students are rewarded with a T-shirt commemorating the event. Students are able to enjoy an amazing scenic view and make amazing memories with their peers and faculty members!
