You can also provide students with a set of example annotations with associated quality scores and an explanation for each score, to help them get a feel for what sorts of comments and questions they should be posting.

What is Perusall?
Perusall is a product that combines the benefits of an online discussion board and a group reading project. Although it can be used independently of Canvas, we have incorporated it into Canvas as an Add-on.
To turn it on in your course:
In your course click on Settings
Click on Navigation
Move Perusall to where you would like it to appear on the left-hand menu.
